About This Policy
K.I.N.G. Chess + Athletics has had the pleasure of serving Houston area schools and families for nearly 10 years, and we couldn't be any prouder of the chess scholars, athletes, and friendships that we've gained over the years! The reason why our education model is so successful is because we believe that our curricula can help children of all ages achieve success through chess, sports, and hard work. And though many schools have told us that our affordable classes are too affordable, we strive to keep it that way to help as many Houston-area children as possible. So, this "Terms + Conditions" policy (may be referred to as "The Policy") reflects our best intentions to continue serving Houston-area communities in the years to come.
Our scholastic program tournaments are important non-rated tournaments that will help students prepare for their first or next rated tournament. Students who do not wish to compete, but want to develop their playing skills outside of our weekly classes will also benefit from our program tournaments. If you register your child or student for a K.I.N.G. Chess League non-rated program tournament and can't attend, you may request that your tournament fee be transferred to the next program tournament hosted by us. Refunds are not available for these tournaments. If you register for a USCF rated tournament, your payment is subjected to the Tournament Director's (TD) refund policy only and not ours.
Scholastic and Sports Programs:
As previously stated, our scholastic and sports programs are uniquely tailored curricula suitable for children of all ages. Affordability is what makes our programs appreciated by parents, schools, and families all over the Houston, TX area. When preparing for a program, we go through a thorough process of making sure that we have all the equipment necessary to proceed for the upcoming semester. Children who are registered for a program are added to the official roster and are allocated materials for class time. And though we understand that last-minute events can cause a student to have to miss out on their semester of activities, issuing last-minute refunds puts unnecessary financial burdens on the programs that we strive hard to maintain affordability. Because of this, we will not be able to offer refunds for our chess and sports programs; however, we will offer parents an exchange courtesy: meaning that you can use your program fee for the next upcoming semester in the same calendar school year.
By filling out a registration form or paying for any of our programs or tournaments, you are agreeing to our Refund + Exchange Policy. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Thank you.
